A few mornings ago, I heard on the radio about a rock concert scheduled for here in Hawaii with The Yardbirds. They were one of the more notable British rock groups in the '60s. In the interview with one of the 2 original members of the group, I found out they had performed a concert in Hawaii 50 years ago(!) Assuming the original musicians coming back were, say, 20, they'd be 70 years old now!
Three of the founding members were Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Jimmy Page, who I'm guessing won't be part of the group this time around. They're listed in the top 15 guitarists in the world by Rolling Stone magazine.I’d gotten help via email from Posterous. When I clicked on a link in it to give kudos to the rep who’d replied to me, I got the following:
As an example, today there were dictionaries for iPad offered, English/Korean and English/Chinese.
I’ve seen several webinars with her so far. She’s an excellent photographer and presenter.
Biography of Stacy Pearsall
Stacy Pearsall started as a military photographer at the age of 17. During my time in the service I traveled to over 41 countries and attended S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She is one of only two women to win the NPPA Military Photographer of the Year competition, and the only woman to have won it twice. Her work has been published in various national and international media as well as documentaries. She’s even shared her experiences as a female combat photojournalist with the world through Popular Photography, Newsweek and even Oprah. She now owns the Charleston Center for Photography, which is a photographic education center and studio rental source in Charleston, S.C. She continues to travel the world teaching photography and photographing assignments for editorial and commercial clients.
An excellent documentary I watched on Netflix Instant last night. I think it's just out. The guy is on his 29th bike so far, after having 28 stolen(!) This staff photographer mixes with all levels of society in NYC wearing (every day?) $20 blue Paris street sweeper's smocks as his "uniform", lived for many years in a tiny apartment in Carnegie Hall filled mostly with file cabinets, bathroom down the hall, no kitchen (he never ate in). ;-)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1621444/ IMDB gave it 8 out of 10. (I find that when their rating is around 8, a film is very, very good to superb.)
