Surfer breaks world record riding 90’ wave [video]

Using the video below and as-yet unreleased photos, Garrett McNamara could soon prove that he has ridden the biggest wave on record, just ten feet short of the illusive ten-story dream of big-wave surfers everywhere.
The enormous waves off the Nazaré coast of Portugal are likely caused by a huge underwater canyon, similar to the giant swells found at Puerto Escondido, Mexico and San Diego.
"I feel so blessed and honored to have been invited to explore this canyon and its special town," McNamara said. "The waves here are such a mystery."
