http://movies.netflix.com/Movie/Max_Manus/70123013?trkid=496624 It's just out on DVD here with Netflix in the U.S. It's quite a very good film, including a superb "making of..." documentary, comparing the history with what they could include in the film. I'd recommend it.
It must have been the role of a lifetime for Andy Griffith, who starred in it. The film included quite a few famous actors, was directed by Elia Kazan. The extras on the DVD were very valuable to understanding the film's importance. In the interviews in the extras, one scholar said Kazan was the top American director from 1947 - 1954. This film definitely goes on my film list.
It got 8.1 on the IMDB. I've found about 8 or higher on their scale is typically a really outstanding movie in my opinion.
