just watched an excellent film "A Face In The Crowd" (1957), very prescient, still relevant; called most overlooked film from 20th century

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0050371/

It must have been the role of a lifetime for Andy Griffith, who starred in it. The film included quite a few famous actors, was directed by Elia Kazan. The extras on the DVD were very valuable to understanding the film's importance. In the interviews in the extras, one scholar said Kazan was the top American director from 1947 - 1954. This film definitely goes on my film list.

It got 8.1 on the IMDB. I've found about 8 or higher on their scale is typically a really outstanding movie in my opinion.
